David Price vs John McDermott: Promo Video for January 21 Fight
Here's a promo video for the January 21 fight between David Price (11-0, 9 KO) and John McDermott (26-7, 17 KO), which is a final eliminator for a shot at the British heavyweight title, currently held by Tyson Fury.
(NSFW lyrics in here - F-words!)
I like the song. But, uh, I don't know if any song choice has ever worse fit a promo video for a fight or a sports game of any sort, or a pro wrestling match, or a movie, or anything.
There's a great part at the end, after this is called a clash between "two forces of nature," where Kanye gets to the lyric, "You should be honored by my lateness / that I would even show up to this fake shit."
So, you know. Yeah. I mean, I like David Price as a prospect, and John McDermott seems like a good guy and I'm never against watching him ply his trade, but if John McDermott is a force of nature...
Ah, well. I'm still looking forward to it. If Price's chin is as dodgy as some suspect, McDermott is the exact type of guy who could crack it and prove the skeptics correct, and that makes this one interesting.

This should be an interesting fight like you say although I’m pulling for Price. I think he has huge potential, Maybe a future British klitschko? haha but all joking aside I do think that if Price is as solid a British prospect as there is.

Said it before
Will say it again
His whiskers will let him down
Maybe he takes a few losses before learning how to protect his chin. Is Big Bad John the man to inflict his first? I don’t think so. But should be a good fight

I remember watching Price at the olympics, and have caught a couple of his fights on youtube recently.
Re : the dodgy chin, what is this based on? Has he been troubled by it in the pros yet? Or is it from his time in the amateurs?
I like that Price is an actual in-shape heavyweight. From watching him a couple of times, his upper back just seems to be freakishly huge.
Hit the canvas
And got stopped many a time in the Am’s

I really like Price a lot, especially now he’s found his power. As tough as big John is he’ll do well to go the distance

Agree with this. If Price does have a shaky chin I doubt McDermott will be the one to find it.

Did they include the Fury-McDermott fight just to show Tyson’s embarrassing Ali shuffle?
"Occasionally, there is a boxing match that, in its demonstration of skill, courage, intelligence, hope, seems to redeem the sport - almost. Perhaps boxing has always been a sport in crisis, a sport of crisis."
I believe so.
