Last night on ShoBox: The New Generation from the Ameristar Casino in Saint Charles, Missouri, Jose Pedraza and Lamar Russ stayed unbeaten in prospect bouts, and former middleweight champion Jermain Taylor continued his comeback with an easy KO of blown-up welterweight journeyman Raul Munoz.
Pedraza (11-0, 7 KO) stopped Tevin Farmer (7-4-1, 3 KO) at 47 seconds of the eighth and final round of their lightweight bout in what served as the TV main event.
Russ (11-0, 7 KO) sparked out Jonathan Cepeda (12-1, 11 KO) in the first round of their middleweight fight at just 1:45.
And the 34-year-old Taylor (31-4-1, 19 KO) made mincemeat of 5'9", chubby Munoz (22-16-1, 16 KO) in the second round, scoring a scary KO and following it up with an interview where he talked about fighting world champions. He's still a long way from really being "back," and the one guy he's fought during his three-fight return to the ring that wasn't abnormally short against him gave him a scare. The Taylor comeback still doesn't seem like the best idea at all, but he's trying his best to sell it when he gets a chance to talk.
