Floyd Mayweather had some good things to say about Manny Pacquiao and Juan Manuel Marquez after their epic fourth fight on Saturday, but managed to sneak in a shot at Pacquiao, anyway. Floyd being Floyd.

Floyd Mayweather is sometimes really, really funny. This will surely anger a bunch of people, but the sheer dedication to making sure he sneaks in a shot at Manny Pacquiao, even while paying him respects, struck me as kind of hilarious.

Pacquiao vs Marquez: Recap / Highlight Video / KO GIF

From Fight Hype:

"Marquez is a true champion, Manny Pacquiao is a true champion, both of them went out there and put on a good performance, and that's a good thing for the sport of boxing. I wish Pacquiao nothing but the best. I wish that he can bounce back and he can recoup from this. In the sport of boxing, you have to really dedicate yourself to your craft. You have to really, really dedicate yourself to your craft. I think he's got so many different things on the outside that he worries about, you know. But it was a good thing that he was able to come into the sport, you know, piggyback off my name, and get a bunch of endorsement deals and make a good living. That's a great thing."

I mean, the way he transitions from saying nice things to noting that Pacquiao piggybacked off his name just strikes me as pure Mayweather genius. It may strike you as something else.

Mayweather says he's hoping Pacquiao bounces back in 2013. What's weird is he seems sincere about every bit of this, from the good things he says about his press rival, to the fact that he really does think Pacquiao has been riding his coattails. At least he's being true to himself, I suppose.
