Pascal vs Kuziemski results: Kevin Bizier stays unbeaten on undercard

Kevin Bizier stayed unbeaten with an eight-round decision win over hard-headed Doel Carrasquillo at the Bell Centre in Montreal.

Welterweight Kevin Bizier kept his undefeated record on the Pascal-Kuziemski undercard tonight in Montreal, largely dominating Puerto Rican club fighter Doel Carrasquillo, who is notable for his toughness and tonight for his showboating antics, which drew the ire of the crowd at the Bell Centre.

Bizier (19-0, 13 KO) scored two knockdowns in the opening round, but Carrasquillo (16-23-1, 14 KO) managed to hang around and frequently alert the crowd to how tough he is by holding his arms up, pulling faces, and making noises. Carrasquillo also went down early in the fifth.

In the eighth, Bizier went all-out looking for the stoppage on Carrasquillo, but the underdog made it the full eight-round distance, giving Bizier plenty of work tonight. Official scores were 80-68, 80-67, and 80-69. Bad Left Hook scored it 80-69 for Bizier.

Bizier is now expected to face John O'Donnell (27-2, 11 KO) on February 8.

Early Results

Super bantamweight prospect Marc Pagcaliwangan improved to 2-0 (2 KO) with a 59-second stoppage of Hunary's Richard Voros (4-11, 1 KO). Voros was as close to Glass Joe come to life as you'll see -- shaky legs, odd attempts to throw punches, no balance. He went down in 20 seconds, went down again about 20 seconds after that, and then his corner threw in the towel.

Speaking of "Punch-Out!!" next up was Laszlo "King Hippo" Peczeli. He was knocked out in 23 seconds on a left hook by Colombian heavyweight Oscar Rivas (12-0, 7 KO). Peczeli falls to 4-3-1 (0 KO).

In the night's third bout, we heard a bell end not just one, but two rounds. Light heavyweight Andy Gardiner (6-0, 3 KO) then stopped another Hungarian, Attila Tibor Nagy (4-6, 3 KO) with a third round assault that wore Nagy down and put him on the canvas, where he decided to spend the next 10 seconds or so.
