Boxing is back on network television this afternoon from Los Angeles, as Leo Santa Cruz faces Alberto Guevara in the main event on CBS.
The long wait is over. For the first time since 1997, boxing is back on U.S. network television, as CBS presents a doubleheader this afternoon at 4:30 pm EST, with exciting young bantamweight titlist Leo Santa Cruz takes on Alberto Guevara in the main event.
BLH will have live round-by-round coverage.
Santa Cruz (22-0-1, 13 KO) is fighting for the fifth time this year, defending his IBF title for the third time, against Guevara (16-0, 6 KO), a frankly little-known fringe contender. But if you want to see a promising young action fighter do his thing, look no further than punch machine Santa Cruz, a 24-year-old who has caught many an eye this year.
Also fighting on the card in his four-round professional debut is 2012 U.S. Olympian Joseph Diaz Jr, one of the brighter young talents from the American squad that went to London.
Fight time: 4:30 pm EST
TV channel: CBS
