Paulie Malignaggi Stars in Omerta: The Act of Silence (Movie Trailer Video)
Oh man, you guys. WATCH IT! Watch the trailer for Paulie Malignaggi's film Omerta: The Act of Silence!

Oh man, you guys.
Oh man.
I haven't looked forward to possibly seeing a movie this much since I don't even know when. I absolutely have to see Omerta: The Act of Silence. I fancy myself a very amateur, very crappy movie reviewer in my occasional spare time. If I can get a copy of it, I promise a full, legitimate movie review of Omerta: The Act of Silence. This is a must-see film for me. I love mob movies, I love when athletes take on acting roles (particularly starring roles in low-budget films), and I love B-movies. I cannot be without this film.
As for Malignaggi, if you missed the news, he's taking that fight in Ukraine against Vyacheslav Senchenko, after initially balking about the money or the location or whatever else. It's a make-or-break kind of fight for him, but don't feel bad if he loses (and he might legitimately lose, before we start writing the Paulie wuz robbed stuff) -- he's got a long career ahead of him elsewhere. Probably not in acting, but definitely in boxing broadcasting, where he's a natural and a very good analyst.

Roger Ebert gave this trailer 3 stars out of a possible 4.
He said the movie looks to have, “good production values for its budget” and predicted that Malignaggi would, “bring an introspective, yet explosive performance to the screen.”
what little we see here was waaaaaaaaaaaaay better than I’d have expected from an “amateur” actor. Omerta,, no less. Paulie.

Also, Paulie had that cameo appearance in the TV series Lights Out. Choo-choo, get on the express train. The Magic Man is winning an Oscar. Choo-choo.

I’ve floated the idea of a BLH meetup at a fight before…but I would pay a LOT of money to get a group of BLH nerds together for a screening of this. No one else I know would understand why this is so awesome.

What’s the name of his character? I hope it’s not “Paulie.” Or “Sallie,” for that matter. I grew up in Brooklyn directly across the street (Pine Street) from Henry Hill, the Goodfellas guy, and I can tell you that naming him either Paulie or Sallie will get him confused with about 3,000 other guys who are still alive.
Maybe Leland, or Sebastian.
