Klitschko vs Chisora: Live Stream, Results, and Round-By-Round Coverage

Nobody will keep Vitali Klitschko and Dereck Chisora apart today. (Photo by Alexandra Beier/Bongarts/Getty Images)

Vitali Klitschko defends his WBC heavyweight title today in Munich, Germany, facing Britain's Dereck Chisora in the main event from Olympiahalle.

BoxNation in the U.K. will be going live sometime around 2:30 p.m. EST, while U.S. viewers can watch live on Epix and stream live on EpixHD.com at 4:30 p.m. EST. RTL in Germany is also carrying the card.

Klitschko (43-2, 40 KO) the heavy favorite in the fight, as expected against Chisora (15-2, 9 KO), a brash greenhorn in comparison. The mouthy Brit raised some buzz yesterday by slapping Klitschko during the weigh-in, which Klitschko has promised to repay today in the ring.

Star-divide

As usual, the Klitschko undercard isn't of much interest to most, but here's the lineup:

Heavyweights, 12 Rounds
Johnathon Banks (27-1-1, 18 KO) vs Nicolai Firtha (20-9-1, 8 KO)

Junior Welterweights, 8 Rounds
Serhiy Fedchenko (29-1, 13 KO) vs Laszlo Fazekas (8-0-1, 6 KO)

Featherweights, 8 Rounds
Stephen Smith (12-1, 6 KO) vs Arpad Vass (7-2, 5 KO)

Welterweights, 6 Rounds
Timo Schwartzkopf (5-0, 4 KO) vs Andre Deobald (4-2-2, 3 KO)

Junior Middleweights, 4 Rounds
Tony Harrison (4-0, 4 KO) vs Suleyman Dag (9-31, 4 KO)

I just thought i’d mention i’ve been working with Karl Place this week.
He’s an apprentice bricklayer on our site as well as doing his boxing.
Nice lad. Quiet and humble and typical of what people say about a lot of boxers.
He’s still only 23 and he’s confident of avenging his loss to Steve Williams, where he says he got stunned by a headbutt, then overwhelmed.
I rated him as a pretty good prospect before the Williams fight, and still do.
He just got caught.

Klitschko vs Chisora Round 1

Chisora coming out and marching forward, throwing his hands. Vitali flicking his jab out. Chisora spins him around a bit as they tie up. Klitschko shoots a right hand after a left lands. Klitschko throwing his right hand, but it’s slow getting off. Klitschko with a jab, then a right. Chisora fires a haymaker and misses, but he’s there to throw back. Chisora gets one in. Tied up, Chisora punching when they’re clinched.

Right to the body from Vitali. Chisora walking into shots now, but not getting hit totally flush. Chisora eats a left hand. Chisora throwing. This is a fight – he’s here to fight. There’s no doubt about that right now.

Vitali with a chopping right hand, then a right to the body, hits some elbow. Left hook is blocked by Chisora. Right hand from Klitschko. That right is warming up. Chisora continues to walk forward. Chisora misses another wild right.

Klitschko vs Chisora Round 2

Chisora comes out throwing a long, slightly sloppy jab, but again showing no fear. Not being backed down. Vitali chants go up. Vitali with another chopping right, now Chisora letting his hands fly. Chisora takes another little right. He can’t get back very well. I mean, this is interesting, but one man appears clearly better to me.

Left hook Klitschko, then a right hand follows. Chisora gets close on a wild right, clips him with it. Klitschko lands again. Right hand gets in. Chisora starting to jump at him now. Right hand Klitschko. Jab and another right. Another right. Another right. Another right. They’re trying to call this round for Chisora, but, erm, no.

Klitschko vs Chisora Round 3

Chisora looks every bit as good here as he did against Helenius, for the record.

Dereck might want to start throwing to the body. Klitschko popping him with that right hand again. Chisora with a left to the body after one upstairs is easily blocked. Uppercut from Klitschko. Chisora eating this stuff, but how long can he?

Shot to the body from Vitali. Right hand again, then Chisora misses a left hook. Right hand from Chisora is blocked. Chisora’s workrate has dipped majorly this round. Klitschko lands again. Chisora jumps with a left hook and misses, then misses a right.

Klitschko vs Chisora Round 6

Vitali moving around — now walking, though, instead of bouncing. Chisora gets in and lands a few shots. He’s having mild success in close now. Slapping right from Chisora gets in. Klitschko comes back with a right hand, then throws two more but doesn’t land.

Big right from Chisora, Klitschko felt that one. Right to the body from Chisora. Klitschko really going backward this round. Chisora’s pressure is getting results now. Right from Vitali, then a left to the body, but Chisora lands a better shot to the body. Right hand from Vitali.

Chisora tries an uppercut as they tie up. Body shot again from Chisora.

Chisora doing his best to channel Joe Frazier but without the workrate or, as others in this thread have noted, his ability to cut off the ring. Still, he is showing more than I thought he would.

Klitschko vs Chisora Round 7

Right to the body from Chisora, and he’s really pushing forward now. Right hand Chisora. He seems to smell something here. He’s REALLY coming forward to start the seventh. Caught Klitschko a bit cold. Left hook Chisora.

Chisora eats a right, and man — oh man, Chisora’s really coming alive the last two rounds. Vitali is in a fight here. Klitschko trying to get some distance and take a bit of a breather. But now he’s coming forward and Chisora lets himself get walked into the corner just a bit — perhaps baiting him a bit, and he does come out of there throwing.

Klitschko being worked here. Right hand from Vitali, his best punch in a bit. Chisora walks through it. Left hook, then a right from Vitali. Ending the round well. Chopping right from Vitali gets in just before bell.

Chisora 10-9
Klitschko 68-65

Klitschko vs Chisora Round 8

Chisora just keeps pushing forward, jabbing to the body. Klitschko trying to jab back, but he’s just constantly going back. This has turned into quite a fight. Left hook upstairs from Chisora, Vitali throws a right back. Chisora getting there again and again. Really pushing him back now. The wild swings are clipping him at this point.

Chisora with a left in return. Vitali’s landing, Chisora right back at him. Chisora bangs away to the body a bit, but then a really nice right to the body from Vitali. Klitschko chants coming alive. Right hand Chisora. Klitschko holding on. Hey now. Hey now.

Vitali’s throwing, but he cannot discourage this guy. This is becoming VERY interesting. Right hand from Vitali chops its way in.

Klitschko vs Chisora Round 9

Chisora still just barreling forward, but not throwing as much in the first minute of this round. Right hand Vitali, and then a better one. Chisora not letting his hands go this round, which is too bad. A minute left in something of a slow round, but slow for this fight is still a good heavyweight round.

Jabbing from Klitschko. right hand Klitschko. Another right! That one got in nicely. Chisora tiring now. Klitschko with another right. Klitschko solidly takes this round in the final minute.

Klitschko vs Chisora Round 10

Vitali starting to land again. He might have saved a bit for the final three rounds. Chisora’s output has dropped the last two rounds, too. Right hand Vitali, now bobbing around and avoiding Chisora’s shots.

This has slowed down, and that is favoring Vitali Klitschko in a big way. Chisora sort of one at a time right now. Nice body shot Chisora, and Vitali pops him back with a right. Chisora made a little push in the final minute, but I go to Vitali again.

They touch gloves to start the round, but I’m not sure how friendly it was.

Vitali throwing hard rights, but missing. body shot from Chisora, then up top. He’s going for the KO. Clips him with a right hand. Klitschko sort of playing it safe here, and rightfully so. The fight is his. No need to get reckless and lose a fight you’ve won.

Little left from Vitali. Chisora bulls him to the ropes. Lunging at him now. Shoots an uppercut, doesn’t come close to landing. Right hand from Vitali, and now they wrestle into the ropes. Chisora swings with everything he has on a right and left, but doesn’t land, and it’s over.

Klitschko. Good effort from Chisora. He brought it as best he could. Nothing more you could have asked for.

Any chance that Adamek fights Chisora?

10-9 Chisora, 115-114 Vitali

Chisora has no real argument to get the decision. I can see it as wide as 117-112; any wider would be silly.

Chisora is good, has a big-time chin, and has heart, but his lack of power really hinders him.

by Verklemptomaniac on Feb 18, 2012 6:16 PM EST reply actions

Chisora vs Highlander would be decent.

Wladimir has been testy tonight, and Chisora spit in his face in the ring before the fight. So he’s right to be hot-headed right now.

by CheCorner on Feb 18, 2012 6:17 PM EST reply actions

Two very good and very similar performances back-to-back from Del Boy. He’s rugged, has a really legit beard and loads of stamina. Solid HW.

by SilverLaker on Feb 18, 2012 6:17 PM EST reply actions

Same guy in both fights, IMO. Just Vitali much better than Helenius.

Those scorecards are pathetic, in all honesty. Del Boy never stood a chance. He didn’t deserve to win, but still.

We knew Vitali was running out of time, but now we can say he’s approaching borrowed time, taking nothing away from the determined, if not fully seasoned Chisora.

The Haye fight is as good a send-off as any, and even that one seems more dangerous than it did yesterday.

I'd like to see Chisora v. Vlad

Vlad’s better technically, but I’ve also questioned his chin, and compared to Vit, his heart.

Chisora’s not giving a bad interview at all. He’s not a nice guy, but he’s a serious fighter and he deserves a lot of respect for that effort, IMO.
