Some of you have asked, so here's the ticket information for the May 5 fight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Miguel Cotto.
Tickets for Floyd "Money" Mayweather vs. Miguel "Junito" Cotto, 2012's biggest night of boxing, go on sale next Tuesday, Feb. 28 at 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT. The WBA Super Welterweight World Championship between the undefeated Seven-Time, Five-Division World Champion Mayweather and Three-Division World Champion Cotto will take place Saturday, May 5 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. The 12-round contest for Cotto's WBA Super Welterweight World title is presented by Mayweather Promotions, Golden Boy Promotions and Miguel Cotto Promotions and will be produced and distributed live by HBO Pay-Per-View®.
Tickets will be priced at $1,500, $1,250, $600, $300 and $200, not including applicable service charges, with a total ticket limit of 12 per person. Ticket sales will be limited to 10 per person at the $1,500, $1,250, $600 and $300 price levels with a ticket limit of two (2) per person at the $200 price level. To charge by phone with a major credit card, call Ticketmaster at (800) 745-3000. Tickets also are available for purchase at www.mgmgrand.com or www.ticketmaster.com

Overall, the Mayweather-Cotto tickets are a bit higher than the Pacquiao-Bradley tickets for June 9 at the same venue:

I always wonder why they capitalize things like Seven-Time and Five-Division. Probably just me.

with both fights possibly being mismatches, whose selling more tickets? Floyd, or Canelo with his Mexican fanbase??…smart move to have Canelo on the undercard for a Cinco de Mayo fight
Anyone have a seating chart for what 200/300 dollars gets you? Or any idea of how bad those seats actually are?

200 isn’t great, but you’re in. you can see what’s going on, but you’re not gonna be able to give a nuanced breakdown. basically, you end up with Jim Lampley’s perspective on fights; i.e., you see what you want to see and get there by sloppily extrapolating cues from activity and body language. 300 is just the best several rows (or maybe the first half?) of the 200 section.
Ah, so not really worth it. Thanks for the info – I wish I could see Mayweather fight live before he calls it quits, but in reality it’s just not worth the 1000 dollars in expenses.

some may disagree, and/or have better eyesight, so maybe better to try to find other opinions. and the really neat part is that the place is electric (both outside and inside the arena) leading up to a big fight, so it’s fun to be around. i guess what i’m saying is that pre and post fight is also part of the experience/equation, fwiw.
