Dana White on Floyd Mayweather: "Yes, Floyd, You're Racist" For Jeremy Lin, Manny Pacquiao Comments

Here's UFC's Dana White with his "Presidential Address" from UFC Tonight on Fuel TV, addressing Floyd Mayweather's recent comments about Jeremy Lin, and past blatantly racist comments about Manny Pacquiao:

"First of all, what he said I think is racist, he's made a couple racist comments, and yes, Floyd, you're racist with the stuff that you said.

"First of all, Jeremy Lin gets all this credit because he's an Asian player in the NBA, that African-Americans never get? Yeah, he's getting all his praise because he's an Asian guy playing in the NBA. And you say that African-Americans don't get it? Really, Kobe Bryant doesn't get any praise? Michael Jordan never got any praise? The list goes on and on of guys who completely get praised for being great NBA basketball players.

Star-divide

"Not only can he compete, and make it in the NBA, the guy's tearing it up and breaking it records, you knucklehead.

"Second of all, the other thing you said, you said Manny Pacquiao should go make some sushi somewhere. Sushi's from Japan. He's from the Philippines, dummy. Don't worry about what all these other guys are doing, and shooting your big mouth off on Twitter. What you should worry bout is getting in there and making the fight all the boxing fans want to see.

"Get in there and fight Manny Pacquiao. You don't deserve more of the purse. Split that -- if there was ever a fight in history that deserved to be split 50-50, it's the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. Shut up, both of you split the money up, and put on the fight that everybody including me wants to see. Yes, I run the UFC and all this stuff, I'm a boxing fan, and I wanna see this fight, too. And I know I speak for millions and millions of other people. Shut up, and make the fight, Floyd."

I wouldn't call myself a big Dana White fan, but there you go. That's what Dana White has to say.

Floyd Mayweather Jr returns to the ring on May 5 against Miguel Cotto, and Manny Pacquiao is back on June 9 facing Timothy Bradley.

that was a good article

It's not the creed, religion nor the nationality that counts, but the man himself

"At the end of the day"

I don’t think anyone outside this “circle of trust” understands how funny that phrase is.

they were in order of weight:
Dominic Cruz, Frankie Edgar, Georges St. Pierre, Anderson Silva, Jon Jones, and Cain Velasquez.

Arum wants to pretend the UFC is racist. and the fans are as well, saying MMA fans are white, tattooed, neo-nazis etc.
then why is there more diversity in the background of the champs than in probably ANY other sport?

Gatti. Dekkers. Pele. Aoki. Kang. Vanderlei. Basillio. Harry Greb.

I’m a big MMA fan and I have mixed feelings about Dana. He’s 1/3 sleazy promoter (greedy, lies, shady when necessary), 1/3 decent guy (supports low level fighters, respects the legends and gets paydays for the guys who fought before the big money, provides insurance to cover injuries in both fights and training), and 1/3 fight fan.

The fight fan drives him to deliver the match-ups that the fans want to see. There are very few cases where he has failed to deliver an in-demand fight that was within his power to make, and as a result we consistently see the best fight the best.

The fact that Pac and Floyd won’t fight is just ludicrous, and casual boxing fans know it. If you’re a 25 year old guy and you watch both sports, the difference is obvious. Boxing screams dysfunctional, and MMA is far from perfect but it at least functions with recognizable logic, and that’s thanks to Dana. If Pac/Floyd doesn’t happen, a lot of casual fans of both sports are going to say “Wow, the two best guys in their generation didn’t fight because of politics, egos and bullshit. Screw boxing, I’m watching the UFC.”

It’s a show of what a fight fan White is that he’ll call Floyd out to make the fight, he could just sit back and watch a competitor self destruct.

This all sounds like I’m a DW nut-hugger and I’m not, just didn’t have any reason to go too deeply into his bad points in this post.

Here u have a guy who talks more shit than anyone in his position should n ur telling someone to shut up?! Don’t understand this guy he’s always talking shit bout boxing promotions. That’s kinda easy to say n do when u have ownership in the UFC n ur the damn promoter too. Win/win Dana!! As far as the comments by Mayweather goes if he’s a racist so is any media outlet that has been reporting the Asian kid! Everytime u hear Jeremy Lin they remind u that he’s Asian. Floyd has a point when they 1st started talk about Jeremy Lin yes it was because he was Asian!! That’s not something u see on the regular!! But no one is paying attention to all the media outlets but only to what the black man is saying! I guess that last little bit makes me a racist too!!
