The Best Sometimes Do Fight The Best, Don't They?

I have been trying to put this fanpost up for the last few days but for some reason the dumb thing won't let me lay it out in paragraghs, so please bear with me and i will lay out the schedule in the comments section. My point here is that boxing has been criticised for many things over the years (yet is still going - strong, some might say) and one of those criticisms in recent years has been that the best don't always fight the best. This is true some of the time, although i think that fighter's do have to be built up and they also have to have soem easier fights to prolong their career. That's just my opinion but i'm sure that's how promoters see it too. Anyway, we see in the UFC top 10 fighters constantly fighting each other, and this is no doubt part of the reason why MMA fighter's records often aren't as glossy as those of their boxing counterparts. This is something to be admired, in my opinion, however i do think there needs to be some balance so that fighter's don't burn out and become shot before their time due to too many wars and get a good chance to make a good living from the sport.

Here is a list of the upcoming boxing schedule for the first half of 2012, which shows that, this year at least, many of the best ARE fighting the best:
