Chavez vs Rubio Weigh-In Results: Chavez 159½, Rubio 159; Donaire 121½, Vazquez 122

The main fighters on tomorrow's HBO all made weight today in San Antonio.

The main fighters for tomorrow night's HBO-televised card in San Antonio made weight this afternoon, though there was some speculation and chatter about Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.

Chavez (44-0-1, 31 KO) will defend his WBC middleweight title tomorrow night against Marco Antonio Rubio (53-5-1, 46 KO), but reportedly showed up late to the weigh-in and had media and fans present wondering about his weight. The concerns were given more validity when Chavez immediately stepped to the scales nude with the familiar black cape covering him, and a bit of a nervous look on his face.

But Chavez, who turns 26 on February 16, made weight, coming in at 159½ on the scales, a half-pound under the fight's limit. Challenger Rubio, 31, comfortably made weight at 159 and had no such look of trepidation while on the stage.

Star-divide

For tomorrow night's televised co-feature, Nonito Donaire (27-1, 18 KO) and Wilfredo Vazquez Jr (21-1-1, 18 KO) both looked in good shape for their vacant WBO super bantamweight title fight. Vazquez, 27, came in at the division limit of 122 pounds. Donaire took to the scales next, weighing 121½ (actually 121.6) for his first fight as a super bantamweight.

I’m guessing around 180-185 again.

I’m really looking forward to this card even if, on paper, the outcomes seem predictable.

Yeah me too. I expect both HBO fights to be good.
