Middleweight world champion Sergio Martinez and challenger Matthew Macklin meet Saturday night at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City, live on HBO and Sky Sports, and are currently putting the final touches on their promotion of the bout, including a meet-and-greet at Legends Bar, and a media workout at Modell's in Times Square.
Martinez (48-2-2, 27 KO) is the heavy favorite on Saturday, with one listing at -1100 for the Argentine stylist, with Macklin (28-3, 19 KO) at +700. Not everyone is buying into the English-born, half-Irish Macklin to come through on St. Patrick's Day as a truly live underdog, but it's not too long ago we saw similar odds for Khan vs Peterson, and we know how that one turned out.
Anyone looking for the upset in this one right now? We're just a couple of days away now, and I've seen a few folks out there who aren't dummies, who think Macklin can pull this thing off.
