Francisco Vargas made a fine impression for those unfamiliar with him tonight on the Mares vs Morel undercard from El Paso, dominating gatekeeper Rafael Lora and stopping him at 2:27 of the third round.
Vargas (10-0-1, 8 KO) is a bit old for a prospect at his level, as he's 27 and turned pro at 25, but he's got obvious offensive talent, which was on full display tonight. He backed down Lora (11-8, 5 KO) and just physically overpowered him the whole way, landing 82 of 185 total punches (44%), and a full 57% of his power punches.
