The weigh-in for the May 5 fight between Floyd Mayweather Jr and Miguel Cotto is open to the public on Friday, May 4, as are other events during the week in Las Vegas.
The first open event will be the fighter grand arrivals on Tuesday, May 1, at the MGM Grand hotel lobby. Expected times of arrival are 1:30 for Shane Mosley, 2:00 for Canelo Alvarez, 2:30 for Miguel Cotto, and 3:00 for Floyd Mayweather Jr. All are local time in Vegas.
Friday's weigh-in will begin at 2:45 p.m. at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. That will be followed at 4:00 by a Tweet-Up event at the MGM's Rouge Lounge.
Mayweather (42-0, 26 KO) is challenging for the WBA junior middleweight title held by Cotto (37-2, 30 KO), and the WBC has generously put a vacant "Diamond" title on the line, too. How nice of them! Alvarez (39-0-1, 29 KO) will put his WBC junior middleweight belt up against Mosley (46-7-1, 39 KO), as the 21-year-old Mexican star looks for win number 40, and the biggest name scalp on his resume to date. Bad Left Hook will have huge, non-stop fight week coverage for Mayweather vs Cotto starting on Sunday, so be ready to be overwhelmed by coverage.
