Mike Tyson undoubtedly the most famous Heavyweight Champ in the last 30 years, maybe even of all time. The man was and still is a massive celebrity. However there are many people who believe that his massive fame and popularity isn't warranted and that he shouldn't be mentioned along side all times greats like Ali, Louis and Marciano.
Personally, I am a firm believer that Tyson is one of the best Heavyweights of all time. In his prime ('86-'88) the man was untouchable. He demolished every opponent that was put in front of him in a ferocious manor, and i believe if not for the turmoil in his personal life (and other factors - Don King) he could of broken Marciano's famous record.
At the same time however I do see were his doubters are coming from; he lost to Lewis and Holyfield (the two other leading Heavyweights of his era) and also a lot most brutal opponents came against lower level opposition.
