Tonight at 11 p.m. EDT on HBO, Amir Khan defends his newly-returned WBA junior welterweight title against the WBC belt held by Danny Garcia. Sky Sports will start their live coverage in the UK at 9 p.m. EDT.
Khan (26-2, 18 KO) is coming off of a loss to Lamont Peterson in December, which was controversial then and even more so now, after Peterson failed a VADA drug test for what was scheduled to be a May 19 rematch. When Peterson fell out, Garcia (23-0, 14 KO) came into play, and presents a potentially tough challenge for the talented but vulnerable British star.
We'll have live, round-by-round coverage tonight. Tom Craze looked at the fight from the betting perspective on Friday, and I took a gander at the undercard of the main event bout earlier this week, which features Fernando Guerrero, J'Leon Love, Jamie Kavanagh, and Phil Lo Greco.
Fight time: 11:00 p.m. EDT
Location: Mandalay Bay - Las Vegas, NV
TV channel: HBO (US) / Sky Sports (UK) - 9 p.m. EDT
