It's becoming an increasingly common sight to see a boxer fighting into their 40's, unfortunately by the time most boxers reach their 40's they're boxing skills and natural athleticism has deteriorated and by continuing to fight against younger, more athletic fighters they are endangering their health.
It does pain me at times to see once great fighters getting seriously punished by younger opponents, as they try to re-capture their former glory. So i think the idea of setting up organisation that matches fighters above the age of 40 with other fighters of a similar age would allow boxers to continue to compete in the sport that they love in a somewhat safer way.
Do you think this would be a good idea?
