Welterweight contender Kell Brook will face Hector Saldivia in an IBF final eliminator on October 20 in Sheffield, England, as Brook returns to Motorpoint Arena, where he's become a fairly notable draw this year.
Brook (28-0, 18 KO) hopes he'll be taking the final step toward a title shot against either Randall Bailey or Devon Alexander. Bailey won the title in June by knocking out Mike Jones, and now faces Alexander on September 8. Alexander is coming off of a dominant February win over Marcos Maidana.
Brook, 26, has had a fine year, beating Matthew Hatton easily and Carson Jones in a slugfest. He'll be fairly well favored over the Argentine Saldivia (41-2, 32 KO), whose record is a lot prettier than it is notable. He can fight a little bit, and certainly shouldn't be written off, but it would without question be an upset if he could pull off the win over Brook.
Tickets are on sale today, and can be purchased from the Motorpoint Arena Sheffield box office at www.motorpointarenasheffield.co.uk and 0114 256 5656, priced at £30, £40, £60 and £100.
