All right guys you will have to bear with me here as this is my first time writing an article of this fashion. I Appreciate any one who reads my full post and please feel free to leave constructive comments at the end!
Since I do not have access to Showtime I was forced to Skip ahead to previewing the 1st bouts of November, mainly the November 2nd bout between Gennady Golovkin and Curtis Stevens. Gennady Golovkin has shown he is a great fighter with incredible punching power. Curtis Stevens, while not on the same level as Golovkin has shown he is a rightful contender and is what i would say heavy handed and possess KO power but not on the same level as Golovkin. Here are what I believe are the keys to winning the fight for each fighter.
Curtis Stevens: From what we have seen Gennady Golovkin has a very straight forward "I'm going to come and try to Knock you out" boxing style. Because of this Curtis Stevens must utilize his jab to try and keep Golovkin off of him. Matthew Macklin was semi successful in the first round of their fight until he stopped using his jab. Gennady Golovkin also holds his right hand fairly lower than most other fighters and if Stevens is to win he must take advantage of this by using his powerful left hook when Golovkin comes forward. Defensive wise Stevens absoulutley must protect himself especially his body from Golovkin's left hook. If Stevens can do all of this he will put up a much better fight than most of Golovkin's opponents have in the past.
Gennady Golovkin: Golovkin is the clear favorite to win this fight and for good reason, however like Golovkin, Curtis Stevens Left hook is incredibly dangerous and GGG will need to stay away from it. Golovkin will also need to utilize his reach advantage over Stevens by landing power shots while keeping far enough away to not get hit by Stevens left hook. Curtis Stevens leaves his body dangerously exposed when fighting and Gennady Golovkin will need to take advantage of this by throwing his Thunderous left hook to Stevens's body all night long.
All right guys that's my post! Hope you enjoyed it and found it a little entertaining... Please leave constructive comments or compliments if you have any! Thanks For reading
