Wladimir Klitschko vs. Alexander Povetkin: Klitschko weighs lightest in four years

Epsilon

Wladimir Klitschko and Alexander Povetkin weighed in today in Moscow. Each man was at the lowest weight they have been at for a while.

The biggest heavyweight fight of the year will be taking place tomorrow in Moscow, Russia and the two combatants weighed in at prime shape. The 37 year-old holder of too many belts to list here Wladimir Klitschko tipped the scales at 241.6 pounds. That is the lightest Wladimir has been at since he fought Ruslan Chagaev over four years ago. The challenger (wait, you mean they both have WBA heavyweight belts?) Alexander Povetkin came in at a TRIM and READY 225.7 pounds. Similar to his taller counterpart, this is the lowest Povetkin has weighed-in for a fight in over two years.

Does this mean anything? Have they both overtrained and will be turned into dehydrated matter like how the world's leaders in Batman: The Movie are turned into by the Penguin? It's time the world finds out.

But this is a pretty big fight, in all seriousness. Povetkin has had the opportunity thrown at him approximately 48.326 times and now it has finally come together. When the fight was made in the spring I didn't think it would actually stick, and I'm glad I was wrong.

On the surface, this would seem like another Wladimir destruction for the most part, but he is 37 and Povetkin is at least better than a lot of the other guys Wladimir has faced.

By the way, Teddy Atlas has picked Povetkin by knockout. Take that for whatever you will.
