Erislandy Lara and Austin Trout are set to meet in a vacant WBA "regular" title fight this Saturday night on Showtime, and the Cuban Lara is confident that he's got the right plan of attack.
Lara (18-1-2, 12 KO) says he has respect for Trout (26-1, 14 KO), but he's not worried about the style clash or anything else. From BoxingTalk.com:
"Trout is a good fighter who does a lot of things well in the ring. I will have to be mentally and physically prepared for anything he brings. The fact that he's a southpaw will not be a problem. I've fought many southpaws in the amateurs and have had great success against them in the pros. Against Paul Williams, I thought I clearly won that fight, but I was robbed. I'm going to fight my fight and Trout will have to adjust to my style."
Lara is coming off of a win over Alfredo Angulo on June 8, while Trout lost his last fight to Canelo Alvarez on April 20.
Lara faces Trout on the Judah-Malignaggi card, airing on Showtime.
