This afternoon from Brooklyn, the fighters will hit the scales for tomorrow night's Showtime Championship Boxing quadruple-header headlined by the hometown battle between Zab Judah and Paulie Malignaggi. The weigh-in will start at 3:00 pm EST, because even weigh-ins are time for a head-to-head battle now for HBO and Showtime.
(I'm joking. It's gotta be pure coincidence. The Rigondeaux-Agbeko weigh-in is at 3:00 pm EST also!)
Judah (42-8, 29 KO) and Malignaggi (32-5, 7 KO) are meeting in a 12-round welterweight bout with no titles on the line, but the other three televised fights are all world title-sanctioned. In the opener, Sakio Bika (32-5-2, 21 KO) defends the WBC super middleweight belt against Anthony Dirrell (26-0, 22 KO). Also, Erislandy Lara (18-1-2, 12 KO) and Austin Trout (26-1, 14 KO) will battle for the vacant WBA "regular" junior middleweight title. And in the main co-feature, Devon Alexander (25-1, 14 KO) defends the IBF welterweight title against Shawn Porter (22-0-1, 14 KO).
