Tonight at 9 pm EST on ESPN2, the IBF junior welterweight title will be on the line as Lamont Peterson returns to the ring to defend against Kendall Holt in a meeting of veteran players in the division.
Peterson (30-1-1, 15 KO) hasn't fought since his controversial upset of Amir Khan in December 2011, after failing a VADA drug test last year ahead of a scheduled rematch with the British star. Holt (28-5, 16 KO) is a former titlist himself, but hasn't been in a world title fight since 2009, when he lost a hard-fought decision against Timothy Bradley. Since then, he's gone 3-2 and had some reshuffling in his career, but tonight he gets the chance to get back up to the top of the division.
In the televised co-feature, 21-year-old super bantamweight prospect Roman Morales (14-0, 7 KO) will face Jesus Antonio Hernandez (10-0-3, 2 KO) in a scheduled eight-round affair.
We'll be here at 9 with live coverage, so join us for the biggest fight of the weekend!
