In the last few months or so, I've reached a point in my life where I've taken a hard look at things that I previously held near and dear to me. One of those subjects is combat sports, particularly boxing. As I've examined my interest in this sport, one thing has become clear to me; I simply don't enjoy watching combat sports anymore. I've realized that instead of celebrating the great fights (and some that weren't so good), I simply can't stop thinking about the long-term health of the participants. I accept that they are willfully competing, and respect that decision. It simply comes down to me not being able to have fun watching because I'm too concerned with the problems it will cause down the road, and that's not something I'm comfortable with any longer.
That said, I would be remiss if I didn't say thanks to this wonderful community here at BLH. First and foremost, I want to say to Scott and all of the other contributors, thank you for being my go-to place for boxing news and commentary over the past few years. I also want to thank all of the members here, with whom I've had some great discussions, even when our opinions didn't match. Thank you all for the great times.
