The less said about Dereck Chisora's awful comeback effort today in London, the better. In fact, there's very little to say about nine rounds of non-action in a fight where Chisora seemed to barely give any effort against a totally overmatched Hector Avila of Argentina.
Chisora (16-4, 10 KO) looked to be going about 50% for much of the fight, occasionally putting any weight into his punches, but not often. All in all, he didn't look bad, in that it's impossible to tell what kind of shape or anything like that he was actually in -- the effort wasn't there because he didn't seem to care.
There are strong rumors that Chisora will be leaving Frank Warren for Matchroom Boxing on Tuesday, which could explain his position in the walk-out fight, after Cleverly-Krasniqi and even Frank Buglioni. It could also explain his seeming lack of sincere interest in giving a competent effort in the ring.
