Today at 11:00 am EDT from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Sergio Martinez and Martin Murray will weigh in for their Saturday night HBO main event, for Martinez's world middleweight championship.
Martinez (50-2-2, 28 KO) is the big favorite, but the Murray (25-0-1, 11 KO) camp is confident, with promoter Ricky Hatton saying that he's seen a new, nasty side to Murray this week. Team Murray seems to believe that at 38 and coming off of knee surgery, Martinez may be ripe for the picking.
Also weighing in in Argentina will be welterweights Luis Carlos Abregu (34-1, 28 KO) and Antonin Decarie (27-1, 8 KO). Both scored impressive wins over prospects last fall on HBO, and now they're back for a good-looking 12-round fight, which will be for the vacant WBC "silver" title.
We'll have continuing coverage of Martinez-Murray, including staff picks later today, and live coverage tomorrow.
