BoxingScene.com is reporting that Yuriorkis Gamboa and Juan Carlos Burgos may meet on June 8 at the Hard Rock in Las Vegas, as promoter 50 Cent has put in a request with the Nevada commission to run a show at the venue, and has informed them that Gamboa-Burgos would be the main fight.
The fight would air on HBO as part of a split-site double-header, with Chad Dawson's fight in Montreal against Adonis Stevenson the other half of the broadcast bill.
Gamboa (22-0, 16 KO) made his debut under 50's SMS Promotions banner in December, as part of Top Rank's Pacquiao-Marquez IV card, surviving Michael Farenas in a 130-pound fight. Burgos (30-1-1, 20 KO) last fought in January, going to a controversial draw with titlist Rocky Martinez, in a fight many felt Burgos had won.
The two could fight one another at lightweight, though, as Gamboa and 50 Cent have both discussed his interest in moving up in weight quickly.
