22-year-old Canelo Alvarez will be a whopping 23 when he gets his chance to slay the king on September 14 in Las Vegas, and says he's confident in his ability, and that he can outbox Floyd Mayweather.
"I am very confident and I will be at my best on September 14th," said Alvarez, who will train in Big Bear, CA and could spar with the likes of Shane Mosley. "I'm intelligent and I believe I have the ability to outbox him throughout the fight."
Well, you know.
No? No. .. No. Probably not.
I mean, you know, no.
Alvarez (42-0-1, 30 KO) is a better boxer than his skeptics believe, at least in my view, and has faster hands than they often say, at least in my view, but, at least in my view, no, Canelo cannot outbox Mayweather. He just can't. Nobody is going to outbox Mayweather.
As for Shane Mosley as a sparring partner, I guess at least it's not another person hiring Steve Forbes to do a Mayweather imitation in camp.
