I am seeing various reports on the Internet that Amir Khan is going to square off against Devon Alexander in December. Reports are that the fight will be in Dubai. The plan is--if Khan wins--to have Khan face Mayweather in 2014. I haven't seen any statements on whether Devon gets Mayweather if he wins.
I think this is a good challenge for Khan right off the bat at 147. Alexander is not a power puncher but he's a skilled tactician and a definite top 10 WW. Perhaps Khan should have eased into it by fighting a Mosely, but beating Alexander gives him a title and Golden Boy some legitimacy to put him up versus Floyd. A fight I would like to see take place in Wembley/UK if it ever happens.
I know Alexander makes people and fights look sloppy but he is effective. His lack of power helps Khan. I'm predicting a controversial and close Khan decision. What do you guys think?
