Guillermo Rigondeaux's future has been in limbo since his April 13th career defining victory over Nonito Donaire. The WBA/WBO super bantamweight king was offered a return date of September 28th, potentially against Chris Avalos, but turned the fight down because he wasn't given enough time to hold a full training camp. On a recent edition of BoxingScene Radio, the Cuban said that he hopes to return to the ring in November.

"I am ready to get in the ring now and start training full speed. I should be ready to go by November. At the time (the fight was offered), they didn't give me enough notice. As a champion I should be given the proper time to prepare for a fight," Rigondeaux explained.

Part of Rigondeaux's problem is that his defense first style isn't particularly crowd pleasing and HBO isn't in a rush to showcase him on their airwaves. With that being said, his style has been very effect and has produced two Olympic gold medals and an undefeated pro career. Rigondeaux said that he isn't going to do anything to alter his style.

"I don't think I need to change anything. I am a champion. I am a champion for a reason. I am not going to change. I am just going to keep doing what I am doing and that has been working for me," Rigondeaux told BoxingScene Radio.

To his credit, the 32-year-old said that he is willing to face anyone in his weight division. He has never ducked anyone in the division but outside of the Donaire fight, has had difficulty landing big name opponents.

"I don't have a problem fighting anyone. It is like I said, I will fight anybody and everybody. you guys need ot understand that! The problem is will they fight me! That is the way it is! It's not me, it is them who won't fight me," Rigondeaux stated.

The two time Olympic Gold Medal winner has been in the news lately as he has been waiting for his next fight. Rigondeaux defeated top 5 pound for pound fighter Nonito Donaire in April, but Top Rank and HBO haven't made the Cuban's return a priority.

"We are just waiting to see what happens. We have two fights left on Top Rank. We will see what happens after that. They aren't giving me the promotion that I need. They just have me on standby," Rigondeaux explained.

Rigondeaux said that he really doesn't know what the issues are and why he isn't getting the respect he feels he deserves. He said that as long as he keeps winning his promoters should do their job.

"I am not sure what the problem is. I am doing my job being a fighter so I leave the promoting to them. I am just standing around and time is passing me by," Rigondeaux stated while also saying that he might have been better off if he had lost to Donaire.

"I am not sure if it would have been better if I won or lost that fight. I won and nothing is going on. I thought I put on a clinic against Donaire. Donaire was worried about being a star and now I won and I am going to be the star," Rigondeaux told us
