Showtime boxing results: Jermell Charlo dominates Gabriel Rosado in co-feature action

Tom Casino/SHOWTIME

Jermell Charlo handed Gabriel Rosado another loss, pushing the Philly tough man closer to journeyman status.

Gabriel Rosado has had four straight shots to go from fringe contender to real contender or even world champion, but he came up short again tonight, as he was busted up and outboxed by undefeated Jermell Charlo on Showtime, losing on scores of 97-93, 99-91, and 100-90. BLH had it 98-92 for Charlo.

Rosado (21-8, 13 KO) has lost three of his last four to Charlo, Peter Quillin, and Gennady Golovkin, with a no-contest against J'Leon Love also in that mix. That's four straight unbeaten fighters Rosado has faced, and it's been a tough run by anyone's standards.

Charlo (23-0, 11 KO) thanked Erislandy Lara for helping to prepare him for the fight.

Rosado told Jim Gray that the eye has become an obvious issue. "It's kinda like my Achilles' heel, I guess. It's real tender, it gets cut early." Rosado had moments, but was disappointed with the scoring, too. "I'm kinda forced to fight aggressive," he told Gray. "You look at the scorecards, it's crazy. I didn't get a round."

Robert Easter Jr UD-8 Daniel Attah

Easter (9-0, 8 KO) put down the veteran Attah (28-18-1, 11 KO) in the third round, but had to grind out his first decision in this one.

Rau'Shee Warren UD-8 German Meraz

Warren (10-0, 3 KO, or whatever counting World Series of Boxing crap) knocked down Meraz (46-28-1, 25 KO) in the final round to win on scores of 80-71, 80-72, and 80-71.
