What made you a boxing fan? Share your story with BLH!

This is a topic that has been brought up before but never gets old. What made you a boxing fan? What was the first big fight you saw live (in person or on tv)? What about the first fight you heard about and rewatched?

Did any promo shows such as HBO 24/7 influence you?

My story: I came to boxing in 2009, after being an mma fan for 2 years. I read about Pacquiao-Hatton the day after it happened. It was the best KO I had ever seen. I immediately looked up the Ring Top-10 P4P rankings and watched fights from each guy. I also researched old fights and read a lot of Liebling.

I found out about the Super 6 SMW tournament in early 2010 (and also found BLH) and I loved the concept. It didn't end up being a slam dunk, but all those undefeated and unproven fighters (and Kessler) fighting home and away, it was awesome. It also had awesome 24/7 style shows that covered the before and after (linked in comments).

I was then eagerly awaiting May-Mosley, especially after seeing a great promo, and watched as Shane almost KOd my favorite fighter, much to DLH's delight.

Anyway, as you can see I love the hype almost as much as the fight itself. Boxing, at it's best, is the greatest sport in the world, and it's not close. The greatest sportswriters in history have often written about boxing, and that is not a coincidence. So feel free to share!
