Your Favorite Fighter of All-Time and Why?

The Sweet Science has given us tons of pugilistic greats. Ali, Frazier, Foreman, Sugar Rays – Robinson and Leonard, Marciano, Joe Louis, Max Schmeling, Tyson - to name but a few. Is there one guy in particular who is your absolute favorite or is this too tough of a call? Is it too hard to simply pick one favorite when our great sport of boxing has given us so many unbelievably talented fighters? Fighters, some of whom not only went down as the greatest boxers of all-time, but greatest athletes ever. Perhaps, though, one breakthrough match or event does help you choose one boxer as your favorite. For me, the choice is easy. I grew up watching and idolizing a contender who become a national hero and fighting pride, captivating his country which never before had a strong professional boxing tradition. The boxer I am referring to is Poland’s most revered fighting name, none other than Andrew Golota. I am very interested in reading your responses. Responses with explanations. Just as plenty of responses were received for my blog "How Did Y'all Get Into Boxing?," I would be very grateful for the same feedback this time around. Our sport has a very rich tradition of stars unlike nowadays. Our future generation may not be as blessed as our forefathers were with seeing such great talents in action in the ring. One heavyweight who may change that, though, is Deontay Wilder (31-0, 31 KOs), who I would choose as the next American heavyweight champion, if I had to make a prediction. Comment Away!
