2012 Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua will be back in the ring on May 31 in London, facing Matt Legg on the big Froch-Groves II card at Wembley Stadium. The 24-year-old Joshua has been off since an easy March 1 win over Hector Alfredo Avila.
"I can't wait to box at Wembley on May 31. It's going to be an unbelievable experience. To box at the national stadium on a bill of this magnitude is a real honor and I plan to kick the night off with a bang against Matt. I know he will want to put on a show on such a huge occasion but I will be looking to add another big KO to my collection."
Legg (7-2, 3 KO) isn't exactly the level of opponent that promoter Eddie Hearn and Joshua were talking about facing next, as battle-tested veterans like Matt Skelton and Michael Sprott previously mentioned as possible next steps. The fight is set for eight rounds, which was also promised next, but seems unlikely to go the distance.
