The cheetahpants June 2014 Boxing Rankings

Next rankings update hopefully on Monday, July the 7th.

March rankings here: http://www.badlefthook.com/2014/3/28/5557556/the-cheetahpants-march-2014-boxing-rankings

April rankings here: http://www.badlefthook.com/2014/4/14/5613686/the-cheetahpants-april-2014-boxing-rankings

May rankings here: http://www.badlefthook.com/2014/5/5/5683222/the-cheetahpants-may-2014-boxing-rankings

Rule #1: The titlists are separate.
Rule #2: I made these rankings with Boxrec + my experience having viewed the fights or surveyed public opinion on the internet.
Rule #3: You win you're in, you lose you're out - unless your win or loss is a bullshit boxing robbery.
Rule #4: If you're inactive for 9 months with nothing scheduled, you're out.

"In the dugout" implies that they're waiting on a win to become ranked in the top #10. Decided to put a little more explanation into the dugout, since theoretically in a top#15 situation, not too many fighters should find themselves here.

HEAVYWEIGHT:

WBA/WBO/IBF:
Wladimir Klitscko
WBC: Bermane Stiverne

#1. Kubrat Pulev
#2. Tyson Fury
#3. Vyacheslav Glazkov
#4. Alexander Povetkin
#5. Dereck Chisora
#6. Deontay Wilder
#7. Tony Thompson
#8. Bryant Jennings
#9. Steve Cunningham
#10. Carlos Takam

CHANGES:
Stiverne beat Arreola for the WBC championship.
Povetkin got back re-ranked after he just completely dismantled Manuel Charr this last week.
These changes push Browne out of the top#10.

WAITING IN THE DUGOUT:
Tomasz Adamek - only fight in the last 10 months was a pretty one-sided loss to Glazkov.
Odlanier Solis - only fight in the last 10 months was a decision loss to Thompson.
Mike Perez - I had him losing his fight 4 months ago to Takam, your mileage may vary.
I kinda have these guys tied for #11: Christian Hammer, Lucas Browne, Andy Ruiz, Erkan Teper. All these guys are waiting for a big win to push them into the top#10, OR are waiting for a top#10 guy to get blown out to get ranked. It's a confusing thing.

UPCOMING FIGHTS:
June 6: Thompson vs Takam
July 26: Fury vs Chisora II, Jennings vs Perez
September 6: Wladimir Klitscko vs TBA

#9. Pawel Kolodziej
#10. David Aloua

CHANGES:
Chakhkiev had a win over the weekend so he pushes back into the top#10.
Boxrec has Venter falling out of the top#10, probably due to such a long spell of inactivity for him. He hasn't fought for 8-9 months now.

WAITING IN THE DUGOUT:
NONE.

UPCOMING FIGHTS:
June 6: Thabiso Mchunu vs Julio Cesar dos Santos
June 7: Ovill McKenzie vs Jon-Lewis Dickinson

#4. Fedor Chudinov
#5. Gilberto Ramirez
#6. Ezequiel Maderna
#7. Christopher Rebrasse
#8. Callum Smith
#9. Hadillah Mohoumadi
#10. Maxim Vlasov

CHANGES:
Groves and Gonzales get busted down to the dugout due to their losses to Froch and DeGale respectively. This makes room at the bottom for Smith and Mohoumadi. Boxrec recalculated Vlasov which drops him a bit.

WAITING IN THE DUGOUT:
Lucian Bute - only fight in the last 7 months was a one-sided loss to Pascal. I'm merely going to assume he keeps fighting, and at 168lbs.
Robert Stieglitz - only fight in the last 7 months was his close loss to Abraham
George Groves
Anthony Dirrell - his only fight in the last 10 months was a draw to Bika. I had him losing. Your mileage may vary.
Brandon Gonzales

#9. Matt Korobov
#10. Jorge Heiland

CHANGES:
Soliman beat Sturm to take his belt and drop Sturm into the dugout.
Lemiuex and Chudinov advance in the rankings due to wins over the last few weeks.
Fletcher got recalculated so he swaps spots with Korobov.
Heiland also got recalculated.
All these advancements and recalculations pushes Curtis Stevens back out.

WAITING IN THE DUGOUT:
Felix Sturm
Miguel Cotto - if he wins, he'll be champion. If he loses, I'll put him back into the 154lb dugout.
Brian Vera - merely assuming he will drop back down to 160lbs.
Caleb Truax - his last fight was a messy draw. A win would probably push him back in.

UPCOMING FIGHTS:
June 6: Heiland vs Reynoso
June 7: Martinez vs Cotto
June 21: Murray vs Bursak
June 28: Uzcategui vs Korobov
July 25: Truax vs Medina

Randall Bailey got recalculated and drops out. That's fine.

WAITING IN THE DUGOUT:
Timothy Bradley - only fight in the last 8 months was the loss to Pacquiao.
Robert Guerrero - hasn't fought for 13 months now, but if he beats Kamegai he should find himself back in.

Jesus Soto Karass
Mike Alvarado
Paulie Malignaggi

UPCOMING FIGHTS:

#9. Thomas Dulorme
#10. Johan Perez

CHANGES:
Postol beat Aydin and skyrockets up. This pushes Aydin out.
DeMarco got recalculated and drops a few spots.
Aydin falling out makes room for Perez at the bottom.

WAITING IN THE DUGOUT:
Khabib Allakhverdiev - only fight for the last 11 months was a close loss to Vargas.

UPCOMING FIGHTS:
June 14: Provodnikov vs Algieri, Soto vs Addo

---

LIGHTWEIGHT:

IBF: Miguel Vazquez
WBO: Terence Crawford
WBA: Richar Abril
WBC: Omar Figueroa

#1. Ray Beltran
#2. Yuriorkis Gamboa
#3. Hank Lundy
#4. Kevin Mitchell
#5. Edner Cherry
#6. Petr Petrov
#7. Rustam Nugaev
#8. Miguel Roman
#9. Xolisani Ndongeni
#10. Paulus Moses

CHANGES:
I'm really confused how Estrada fell 30 spots in a Boxrec recalculation. Perhaps because he hasn't fought in 5-6 months? Who knows.
Mitchell and Petrov advance due to big wins.
Cherry finds himself recalculated back into the top#10.
Ammeth Diaz finds himself dropped out due to 12 months inactivity with nothing scheduled.
With all these changes, Crolla just BARELY finds himself nudged out.

WAITING IN THE DUGOUT:
Ricky Burns - basically hasn't looked good in 2 years since he fought Kevin Mitchell.
Denis Shafikov - only fight in the last 10 months was the blowout to Vazquez.

#4. Daiki Kaneko
#5. Bryan Vasquez
#6. Stephen Smith
#7. Rances Barthelemy
#8. Emmanuel Tagoe
#9. Luis Flores
#10. Andrey Klimov

CHANGES:
Fortuna advances this weekend with a win over Juan Antonio Rodriguez, which of course forces Rodriguez out.
Kaneko re-enters the top#10 with a win.
Smith hops over Barthelemy with a win in May.
Jomthong Chuwatana drops out because he has been inactive a grand total of 14 months.
Diego Magdaleno seems to be campaigning full-time at 135lbs now, so he drops out.
This makes room at the bottom for Flores and Klimov.

WAITING IN THE DUGOUT:
Orlando Salido - even though he won his last fight at 126lbs and weighed-in over, he still needs to win a proper fight at 130lbs to be ranked.
Dante Jardon - his only fight in the last 10 months was his loss to Miura.
Juan Carlos Burgos - officially going 0-1-2 in his last three bouts, I had him beating Rocky Martinez, but doing poorly against Amidu and Garcia leaves him here in the dugout.
Daniel Ponce de Leon - surprisingly KOed in his last fight, his comeback fight is soon.
Will Tomlinson - his only fight in the last year was a loss to Belmontes.
Arash Usmanee - officially going an unimpressive 0-2-1 in his last three, I had him beating Barthelemy, but getting fairly beaten by Mendez and Beltran in his last few outings.

FEATHERWEIGHT:

WBC: Jhonny Gonzalez
WBA: Nonito Donaire
IBF: Evgeny Gradovich
WBO: VACANT [winner of Lomachenko vs Russell]

#3. Nicholas Walters
#4. Rocky Juarez
#5. Hisashi Amagasa
#6. Lee Selby
#7. Satoshi Hosono
#8. Jorge Arce
#9. Ronny Rios
#10. Jesus Galicia

CHANGES:
Donaire beat Vetyeka to become WBA champion, but I have a hard time unranking a guy who lost a fight by one point in such a fashion. So Vetyeka gets dumped into the #1 spot.
Alvarado got narrowly defeated which drops him out, and gives new life to Juarez who advances into the top#10.
Walters advances by beating Darchinyan.

WAITING IN THE DUGOUT:
Abner Mares - his only fight in the last 13mos was that RD1 KO to Gonzalez.

UPCOMING FIGHTS:

#5. Thabo Sonjica
#6. Hidenori Otake
#7. Rodrigo Guerrero
#8. Andres Gutierrez
#9. Wilfredo Vazquez
#10. Fernando Montiel

CHANGES:
Boxrec decided to recalculate Guerrero, Gutierrez, and Vazquez.. which shifts them all around. I inserted Montiel at the tail end. Which pushes Gasca out. Darchinyan gets blown out of the dugout not only from moving up to Featherweight, but getting completely demolished by the Axe Man.

WAITING IN THE DUGOUT:
Cristian Mijares - only fight in the last 6 months was the lost to Santa Cruz.
Victor Terrazas - I honestly had him losing to both Santa Cruz and Mijares, so to me he hasn't won a fight for 1.5 years.
Takafumi Nakajima - hasn't won a fight in 8 months.
Jeffrey Mathebula - only fight he has had in the last 15 months was a KO loss to Kiko Martinez.

UPCOMING FIGHTS:

CHANGES:

NOTE: MY RANKINGS FOR SUPER FLYWEIGHT THROUGH MINIMUMWEIGHT ARE PROBABLY INACCURATE. Feel free to call me out on any inaccuracies.

---

SUPER FLYWEIGHT:

WBO: Omar Narvaez
WBA: Kohei Kono
WBC: Carlos Cuadras
IBF: VACANT [Zolani Tete vs Teiru Kinoshita]

#1. Srisaket Sor Rungvisai
#2. David Sanchez
#3. Edgar Sosa
#4. Yohei Tobe
#5. Arthur Villanueva
#6. Toshiyuki Igarashi
#7. Oleydong Sithsamerchai
#8. Mark Geraldo
#9. Edrin Dapudong
#10. Rey Megrino

CHANGES:
Carlos Cuadras defeated Srisaket Sor Rungvisai for the WBC title, knocking him out of the top#10.
- ADDENDUM: Now that I've seen the fight, Cuadras was cut really bad a few seconds into round 8 by an accidental headbutt. I can't really score a few seconds of a round where nobody lands, but I had it 4-3 Rungvisai after 7 rounds. However, Rungvisai was deducted one point going into round 5 for headbutts. I wasn't really sure why... he wasn't purposefully headbutting, or leading with his head, or anything. So based on these facts, I'm going to dump Rungvisai into the #1 spot rather than the dugout as originally stated.

The VACANT IBF title has been decided to be contested between Tete and Kinoshita, so I moved them both out of the top#10.. as the winner shall be a titlist, and the loser shall be unranked.
Edgar Sosa moves up from Flyweight with a win and is ranked.
Yohei Tobe arrives after a recalculation.
Igarashi arrives from Flyweight as well, and is ranked.
Rey Megrino is ranked.. but again, I have a hard time ranking a guy who is 21-20-3 higher than #10, despite defeating Pong.
Nobuo Nashiro drops out of the dugout after 9 months inactivity with nothing scheduled.
All these changes force Sho Ishida out of the bottom.

WAITING IN THE DUGOUT:
Daiki Kameda - his only fight in the last 9 months was his loss to Solis.
Juan Carlos Sanchez - only fight in the last 9 months was a loss to Tete.
Denkaosan Kaovichit - only fight in the last 9 months was a loss to Kono.

UPCOMING FIGHTS:

Moises Fuentes lost and drops into the dugout.
These changes make room for Saul Juarez at #10.
Benezer Alolod pushes in with a win.
John Casimero defended his IBF title but failed to make weight, and was stripped. It is assumed he will move up in weight after this.
