Both fights for tomorrow night's edition of HBO World Championship Boxing are good to go, as Gennady Golovkin and Daniel Geale both made weight for their WBA middleweight championship main event, and heavyweights Bryant Jennings and Mike Perez also tipped the scales this afternoon in New York.
Golovkin (29-0, 26 KO) weighed in at 159.8, just a bit above Geale (30-2, 16 KO), who came in at 159.2 pounds. Geale, a former IBF and WBA titleholder, beat Garth Wood in his last fight, a tune-up following a loss last August to Darren Barker. Golovkin has been nearly invincible over his pro career, and has gone 4-0 on HBO dating back to 2012, with a pair of wins in Monte Carlo also coming during that time.
Jennings (18-0, 10 KO) came in at 222.6 pounds, giving up about 20 on the scales to Perez (20-0-1, 12 KO), who weighed in at 242.2. This is a pivotal fight for both unbeaten heavyweights, who are looking to get a world title shot in the near future.
