British boxer, Amir Khan, was arrested and subsequently released on bail on July 4th after suspicion of assaulting two men. The alleged assault took place in the early hours of the morning following a prayer service held at a Mosque in Bolton, England.
An altercation occurred after two 19-year old men had an exchange with someone in Khan's party. Khan confronted the men and they were reported to have injuries, though none serious.
A witness that chose to remain anonymous reported that Khan was upset during his arrest, saying, "Don't you know who I am? I'm AK".
Though details are sparse and unconfirmed, Khan later took to twitter:
All nonsense please don't believe what you read. I'm home with my family and nobody got beat up

Khan's recent posts prior to the arrest on both Twitter and Instagram had been related to the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, in which Muslims around the world abstain from food or drink from dawn until dusk. He has been viewed as a strong role model to Muslim youth due to numerous charitable contributions and acts, though his reputation has taken a hit in the previous year due to various scandals and rumors.
