Sergio Martinez faces Darren Barker in Atlantic City Saturday night in a fight that might have been off the boards before the internet age. Barker may not be the equivalent of the Duke of Wellington, but he is a competent prizefighter—and that, in itself, is an accomplishment. Still, Barker has never fought on this level before, and there is no reason to think that he will suddenly enter the ring tomorrow night ready to thrash Martinez the way the "Iron Duke" whipped Napoleon at Waterloo. British Scene: Gavin Rees vs Derry Matthews Preview

Preview of Saturday's lightweight clash between Gavin Rees and Derry Matthews.

Arthur Abraham sets Berlin speed record

But not in a good way. Abraham was pulled over in his Ferrari doing 231 km/h (about 144 mph) in a zone where the speed limit was 80 km/h (about 50 mph). Local authorities say that's the fastest speed anyone's been pulled over for on that highway. Due to the egregious nature of the offense, Abraham may lose his driver's license for three months. The former middleweight titlist said he was running late for an awards ceremony where he was being honored (although, apparently, the ceremony was in Armenia).
