Mexican veteran Martin Honorio exposed the weaknesses in the game of lightweight prospect John Molina, upsetting the younger and bigger man with a 10-round unanimous decision in an exciting Shobox main event from Temecula, California.

Honorio (27-4-1, 14 KO) came in with experience on his side and little else. You may remember him from a 2007 first round TKO loss to Robert Guerrero on Shobox, and he's also been in the ring with Rogers Mtagwa, Steven Luevano, Jorge Lacierva, and many others.

Tonight, he used constant motion and a more well-rounded skill set to knock off the previously-unbeaten Molina (18-1, 14 KO). Molina didn't look bad necessarily, though he lost on wide scores of 98-92, 98-92 and 99-91. But it seems like he's a limited fighter who may top out at reliable action star. He perhaps has more guts than he needs, and loves to mix it up and brawl. It's not a bad quality to have at all, but will he ever be a truly elite fighter? I think he's an underdog for that role.

This pretty well rejuvenates the career of Honorio, who was brought in again to be an opponent, and pretty much was there to get knocked out.

On the undercard, Rico Ramos stayed unbeaten with an eight-round decision win over Alejandro Perez (78-73, 80-71, 80-71). Those who watched said it was another highly-entertaining, high-octane fight. Ramos is now 14-0 (8 KO).
