Mayweather vs Maidana: Amir Khan vows to be better against Collazo after lengthy layoff

Amir Khan says he'll be better than ever against Luis Collazo on May 3, when the two meet on the Mayweather-Maidana undercard.

Amir Khan didn't get the May 3 fight he wanted, but he's got a test coming his way on that date, anyway, as he'll face longtime welterweight contender Luis Collazo in the main undercard bout of the Mayweather-Maidana undercard.

Khan (28-3, 19 KO) hasn't fought since a rocky win over Julio Diaz in April 2013, but says that the move up to welterweight will suit him, and that he'll show he's become a better fighter:

"Being out of the ring for so long has helped me work on a lot of different things that you usually wouldn't get the time to focus on when you're in a training camp for a fight.

"It has come at the right time for my move up in weight, and it is going to make a massive difference. You'll see a different fighter - better, more skilled, patient and smarter. I can't wait to get back in there and cause some hurt."

Collazo (35-5, 18 KO) is coming off of a second round knockout of Victor Ortiz on January 30, and both fighters are looking to make a statement on Mayweather's card, with the hope of ultimately landing a fight with Floyd himself.

Do you expect Khan will be any better moving up in weight, or will we see the same Amir Khan, only slightly bigger?
