Barrera to return in rematch with Mzonke Fana?
Source: Boxing Scene
We've been hearing slight rumblings ever since his uninspiring loss to Manny Pacquiao in October, but now the idea seems like it's taking some sort of form.
The pointless idea is to pit Barrera in a completely unnecessary rematch with Mzonke Fana, who was knocked out by Barrera in the second round of their 2005 fight.
Fana didn't deserve a shot at Barrera then, and though he's the IBF super featherweight champion now, he's largely considered the worst major alphabet champion in the sport.
Barrera's plan would be to fight Fana and then retire for good, or at least so he says. This isn't like Erik Morales; frankly, if Barrera wants to fight, he probably just should. He was excellent in his loss to Juan Manuel Marquez in March 2007, and even though he just played defense adn stayed away from Pacquiao in October, he wasn't beaten up or anything.
But a one-off fight against Fana? No thanks.

Barrera, Morales
So, let's see: Morales wants one more fight. And Barrera wants one more fight. Why don't they just fight each other? What better way to end their respective careers, what with all the history and animosity between them?
