"Any one of those guys out there -- Maidana, Bradley, Alexander. I feel like Amir Khan could beat them all in one night. It doesn't really matter. They're not the best guys out there. Amir Khan is." --Freddie Roach. Roach has a busy winter coming, as he has Pacquiao-Margarito on November 13, Cotto-Chavez and Martirosyan-Wolak on December 4, and Khan-TBA on December 11. Amir Khan, David Haye, Oscar de la Hoya, Michael Katsidis, Bernard Hopkins and Shane Mosley at yesterday's weigh-in. To keep things in order: Khan is hoping to fight Juan Manuel Marquez; Haye is probably going to fight Audley Harrison; Oscar is happy to pocket some coin for promoting; Katsidis wants to fight anyone, including Marquez and Khan; Bernard Hopkins is apparently over his tift with the Golden Boy gang; and Shane Mosley had a press conference yesterday for his September 18 PPV fight with Sergio Mora. "I believe I’m the faster fighter. If I get hit on chin, I’m not going to wobble. If Amir Khan starts wobbling, I hope they have a pillow for him in the corner, because he’s going to sleep. I’m going to enjoy sinking my punches into Khan. Some fights are just business, but not this one. I’m going to enjoy every punch I land." --Paulie Malignaggi (27-3, 5 KO) (Photo by Chris Hutty - Hoganphotos/Golden Boy Promotions)
Paulie Malignaggi put "Amir Con" shirts for sale on his website. I have a feeling these ones might continue to sell well long after the fight is over. They're available for purchase at Official Malignaggi.com
WBA junior welterweight titlist Amir Khan and Paulie Malignaggi got together for a press conference in London. The two meet on May 15 in New York. Oscar de la Hoya called the matchup the "Fight of the Year." In other news, Oscar de la Hoya is insane.
Paulie Malignaggi, challenging the British Khan by asking him to swing at the soccer field he and Lou DiBella have thrown.
