As a follow-up to the earlier article about Antonio Margarito's New York licensing status for his December 3 rematch with Miguel Cotto, the state just handed down the determination that Margarito has been granted his license. The fight will go on as scheduled at Madison Square Garden.

Freddie Roach at work, ladies and gentlemen. Less than a month after Manny Pacquiao closed up Antonio Margarito's eye, Welterweight Champion Georges St. Pierre did the same to Josh Koscheck at UFC 124. Props: Cagewriter

"I wanted Margarito to win. I mean my heart was with him and I thought he had a pretty good chance, but after Pacquiao cut him - I knew it was over. Manny is a gentleman, because he had Tony hurt in the 10th round and he could have finished him, but he let Tony survive. He showed his class and that is why he is the best. I am not ashamed to be on his list of victims because he is great." --Marco Antonio Barrera (BoxingScene.com)

This is what Manny Pacquiao did to Antonio Margarito last night at Cowboys Stadium. Keep in mind that Pacquiao was giving up about five inches of height, six inches of reach, and on the HBO scales, nearly 20 pounds. What Pacquiao did to the much bigger man last night was astounding, and also note that Margarito was game and did land some good shots. Manny Pacquiao is a force of nature. Microscoped photo of Antonio Margarito's handwraps confiscated before the Shane Mosley fight. This came from the CSAC's agenda for its licensing hearing for Antonio Margarito. Unfortunately, since then, the CSAC's website has crashed. If the site goes back up, the full agenda was available here, while the CSAC's website is usually here. Of course, Margarito's argument all along has been that he didn't know about the illegal wraps, not that the wraps weren't illegal. This just goes to show a little better the scope of the illegality, since it was hard to see much from the original photo of the full wrap.

"I don't want to discuss anything about [the meeting with Jerry Jones] until after the Margarito thing in California. And then we'll announce the venue and the press conference schedule. I don't want to disrespect anybody or anything. California is going to decide on Wednesday and then whichever way California decides, various state commissions will decide whichever way they think is best." --Bob Arum (Robert Morales, BoxingScene.com) (Photo by Jed Jacobsohn/Getty Images)

"If he settles the issue with his suspension and the money is right, it's possible." --Miguel Cotto, on potentially fighting Antonio Margarito again. This is quite a change in tone from last year, when Cotto said Margarito would never make money fighting him again. (BoxingScene.com) (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

At Dan Rafael's ESPN blog, people inside boxing react to the news that Antonio Margarito is likely to be licensed by the morally bankrupt Texas State Athletic Commission. It's not positive.
