Cristobal Arreola likely to face either Derric Rossy or Brian Minto

Heavyweight contender Cristobal Arreola's December 5 fight has two leading candidates for opponent. Derric Rossy and Brian Minto are leading the race.

Friday night results

  1. Victor Cayo UD Julio Diaz. Cayo seemed to mature as the fight went on, and while things were very even for the first half of the fight, he clearly pulled away late. Diaz doesn't look "shot", but he's clearly getting close to the end of the line.
  2. Derric Rossy UD Carl Davis Drumond. Drumond just didn't throw punches most of the fight, making it pretty easy for Rossy to take it. Rossy did look vastly improved since his last loss, and I'd like to see what he can do against a top 20 fighter with a full training camp.
  3. Tyrone Harris TKO8 Marvin Quintero. Bad summer for Gary Shaw's Mexican prospects. Harris was clearly the better fighter all night in a fight with lots of toe to toe action.
  4. Prince Badi Ajamu UD DeAndrey Abron. Abron is proving himself to be one of the worse fighters to get a title shot. If Zsolt Erdei wants people to take him seriously, he needs to stop facing cans like this guy.
  5. Mzonke Fana TKO6 Jasper Seroka. Reports say that Fana outclassed Seroka and beat him up all night. He's now the mandatory for the winner of Robert Guerrero-Malcolm Klassen.
