Enzo Maccarinelli's joke substitute opponent failed his physical and also failed twice to make weight, so his fight for the vacant WBO cruiserweight title is off. Instead, he'll fight for the first time at heavyweight, meeting 34-year old Matthew Ellis (20-5-1, 9 KO). Ellis isn't exactly a big heavy (5'11", usually around 220), so if Macca loses it'll be hard to blame size difference given that he's almost half a foot taller.
Either way, I can't help but think it's nice of Maccarinelli to take a fight since he was advertised to fight. He doesn't have to, and no one would blame him if he didn't, really.
