Floyd Mayweather's purse for Miguel Cotto fight tomorrow night (Sat., May 5, 2012) in Las Vegas, Nevada, is a guaranteed $32 million, breaking the record of $30 million set by Mike Tyson back in 1997. As if we needed any more reason to call him "Money." Cotto's purse? A respectable $8 million, the highest of his career.

As a follow-up to the earlier article about Antonio Margarito's New York licensing status for his December 3 rematch with Miguel Cotto, the state just handed down the determination that Margarito has been granted his license. The fight will go on as scheduled at Madison Square Garden.

"If he settles the issue with his suspension and the money is right, it's possible." --Miguel Cotto, on potentially fighting Antonio Margarito again. This is quite a change in tone from last year, when Cotto said Margarito would never make money fighting him again. (BoxingScene.com) (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

"I want [my father] to know that every time we woke up at dawn, every trip we took, everything we did, it was all worth it." Heavy.com has a video series up called Cotto: Road to the Bronx, and I truly do recommend it. The videos aren't long, so they won't consume a lot of your time, and you get to see a bit inside of Cotto's first camp with Emanuel Steward leading up to his June 5 return fight and junior middleweight debut against Yuri Foreman.

On his Twitter page, Miguel Cotto has announced that a new trainer will be named soon. Emanuel Steward? Someone else? I think everyone can agree that replacing Joe Santiago is the right call, though.

According to this translation of a passage from Takanori Gomi's blog, the Japanese lightweight free agent has been in talks with Zuffa while in Las Vegas for the Pacquiao-Cotto fight, aided by his friend Tito Ortiz. Gomi says that if talks with Zuffa fall through, Strikeforce is another option, and that he wants to have a deal in place to start the new year. Photo by Dan Herbertson for Sherdog. [UPDATE] It looks like the post has gone missing from Gomi's blog (that, or the quote was fabricated), so take this with a grain of salt for now. However, Gomi was most definitely in Las Vegas this past weekend for the big fight.

Cotto-Pacquiao took the crown from March Badness for our all-time most commented live coverage post. And thanks to everyone that has visited for what has been an incredible 2009 that we plan to close out very strong, too. I thought 2008 was a good year for us, but 2009 has trumped it and then some. Thank you all. (AP Photo/Eric Jamison)
