Didn't see the fight, because I'm sane and am not spending money to see Evander Holyfield fight at age 44 against Fres Oquendo. The summary I've gathered is that Holyfield looked sharp early, and not so much the rest of the fight. Oquendo brought nothing, so of course sentimental favorite Holyfield gets the decision, 116-111 and 114-113 on two cards.
Oquendo, of course, felt robbed. Holyfield, of course, thought the decision was just.
At the end of the day, though, there's one big question: Who cares? It's a 44-year old former champion taking advantage of a weak commercial market in the heavyweight division with his name power beating a 33-year old almost-was on a Friday night.
There's a real heavyweight fight tonight on HBO, and we'll be scoring and covering the Klitschko/Brock showdown at Madison Square Garden here at Bad Left Hook.
