South Korean fighter Yo-Sam Choi was rushed to the hospital for emergency brain surgery after a fight in Seoul on Christmas day, and remains in a coma at last report.
Choi, listed as 33 years old in the AP report but 35 at BoxRec.com, was knocked down in the 12th round of his unanimous decision win over Indonesia's Heri Amol, in which he retained the WBO intercontinental flyweight title.
A spokesman said that Choi's condition is "very bad," and that, "Even if he survives, it'll be difficult for him to continue his boxing career."
We at Bad Left Hook send our best wishes to Choi and his family.
