Quick picks for the Saturday night Showtime card

Adamek UD-12 Dawson

Should be a good fight. Honestly, though, I just don't think Dawson is primed for a fighter as ring savvy as Adamek is, somewhat similar to Calvin Brock's quest to dethrone Wlad Klitschko last summer. I still think Brock is one of the better heavyweights in the game, and win, lose or draw, I think Dawson will still come out of this with a very bright future, but the time is not right.

Diaz TKO-8 Chavez

I have to think Julio Diaz is hungrier than Jesus Chavez will be in this fight, and I think Julio Diaz is looking to make a statement at the returning Chavez's expense. The time out of the ring is going to affect Jesus badly, and I look for Diaz to drop him in eight.

Spinks SD-12 Jones

Everyone is in agreement - the reason this fight isn't televised is because Cory Spinks is human NyQuil in the ring. Jones isn't a lot more exciting, to be fair. It could be good, as in competitive and close, but it won't be a barnburner. I think Spinks takes a controversial split decision victory in this mandatory, and continues his reign of boredom.
