Fightnews.com is reporting that James Toney tested positive for two different kinds of steroids after his May 24th fight against unknown contender Danny Batchelder, who, incidentally, ALSO tested positive for two kinds of steroids in the tests conducted that night. How ridiculous is this?
Toney was reportedly fined $2,500 and suspended for a year. Honestly, I think that's somewhat of a light fine, at least financially speaking, seeing as though it's his second offense in the past couple of years. He'll be 40 by the time he's allowed back in the ring. I don't mean to be cold, but, honestly: Good riddance, James Toney. The heavyweight division won't miss you.
